Questions, answered.
Short answers about how SecondDesk handles your work, your data and your sign-in.
Getting started
Which tools does it work with?
SecondDesk is built for Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Webex and Zoom. Connectors roll out during early access; the live demo shows all of them.
What does early access include?
A full desk with sample data, the Review queue, Coverage and the Admin Console. Connectors roll out over time, and the live demo shows all of them.
Autopilot
Can Autopilot send email as me?
Only under a standing approval or rule you created through Review, never to sensitive people or about sensitive topics, and always with Undo. Everything else waits for you.
What happens if I don't respond?
Nothing. Silence never expands what SecondDesk may do. A timeout never sends, approves or decides anything.
Can my admin limit it?
Yes. The Admin Console sets an Autopilot policy and lane caps for the whole workspace. You can tighten them further, never loosen them.
Is Autopilot available today?
It runs in the live demo today, on sample data. Connected accounts roll out during early access.
Safety and control
Will SecondDesk send emails or messages as me?
Not on its own. Replies, nudges and updates are drafted into your Review queue. Nothing leaves without your approval: per item, or under a standing approval you set for narrow, internal cases. Your own words send when you press Send, with a few seconds to Undo.
Sensitive people and topics?
Clients, executives, HR and external recipients are never batch-approved. HR, legal and compensation topics are alerts only. When in doubt, the stricter lane wins.
Can I undo what it does on its own?
Yes. Every automatic action is reversible, logged in Activity and comes with one-click Undo.
Can an automation ever send something without my approval?
No. Anything that leaves your account is a Yellow-lane draft that waits in Review. Ceilings can only be tightened, never raised past the lane rules.
What counts as sensitive?
Clients, executives, HR and external recipients, plus anything you mark sensitive. They are approved one by one, never in a batch.
Will it archive something important?
Only low-risk noise is archived, every archive is logged, and Undo restores it in one click.
Can I set my own rules?
Yes. Rules are yours to add and tighten, and a rule can never push an item past its lane.
Meetings
Does the notetaker talk in meetings?
No. The Stand-in joins as a clearly labeled notetaker, records and transcribes, and never speaks or types for you.
Will attendees know?
Yes. The Stand-in joins with a clear label in the participant list.
Can it answer questions?
No. It records, transcribes and takes notes. It never speaks or types for you.
Can I share recaps externally?
Yes, as an expiring, read-only link. The transcript is excluded by default.
Does it accept invites for me?
No. Accepting and declining are drafts that wait for your approval, except moving your own focus blocks.
Can guests see my calendar?
No. Guests see only the open times you offer.
Does it work across time zones?
Yes. Booking pages detect the guest's time zone and show your own time zone on the owner card.
Coverage
Can my assistant or a teammate cover for me?
Yes. Coverage gives them scoped, time‑boxed access. Their drafts come back to your Review, and sensitive items stay yours.
Do delegates need a seat?
A delegate who covers your desk is a member of the workspace and uses a seat on the Team and Business plans.
Can my assistant draft to my queue?
Yes. Their drafts are marked "Drafted by Sam", and you see a diff of your edits.
Can they see HR mail?
No. Sensitive items are visible to you only.
What happens when coverage ends?
Access ends on its own at the time you set, and you get a hand-back report.
Pricing
Is it free?
Free during early access. At launch, plans start at $12 a month billed annually, and we'll tell you before anything is billed.
Will I be charged?
Not during early access. We'll tell you 30 days before anything is billed, and you choose whether to continue.
Can I switch plans?
Yes. Change plans any time. Upgrades prorate for the days left in the period.
What counts as an AI run?
One automatic or requested job: a triage pass, a drafted reply, a prep packet or a recap. Browsing and approving don't count.
Can I cancel?
Yes, any time from the Admin Console. You can export your data first.

Security and data
Do you use my data to train models?
No. Your work is not used to train models.
What can admins see?
Admins set policy, lane caps and retention and read the audit log of changes. They don't read your drafts or your mail from the console.
How do I report a vulnerability?
Use the security form on the contact page. We'll acknowledge it within one business day.
Sign-in
How do I sign in?
With a passkey (Face ID, Touch ID or Windows Hello) or a one-time email link. There are no passwords to leak or reset.
How does sign-in work?
Passkeys, which are phishing-resistant and stored on your device, or one-time email links that expire in 15 minutes. There are no passwords.
